The Asian tournament circuit is teeming with action, with major festivals running in different parts of the continent. These include the record-setting APT Taipei 2023 and already underway 2023 Poker Dream Manila, complemented by the just-started APPT Cambodia, all attracting a notable group of Indian players.

The fourth edition of the Poker Dream Manila has been ongoing since April 26 at the Newport World Resorts Integrated Resort in Metro Manila. The series features 30 events and a remarkable ₱95 million (approximately US$1.7 million) in guaranteed prize money, catering to a diverse audience with a range of buy-ins and high-stakes options.

The Main Event, featuring a PHP 66,000 ($1,211) buy-in, commenced on May 4 at the Grand Wing Casino in Newport City, Metro Manila. The event consists of three starting flights, with the top 15% of each flight’s field advancing to claim a portion of the coveted prize pool.

Day 1A of the Main Event drew 141 entries, with 22 competitors advancing to Day 2 after 13 hours of intense play. Malaysia’s Wai Keong Yong (421,000) topped the end-of-day chip counts, followed closely by Alessandro Taranto (368,000), Hal Rotholz (282,000), and Lijun Zhang (281,000).
