APT Asian Series Goa commenced yesterday and attracted a field of 89 runners for its first event - INR 5K Freezeout, producing a total prize pool of Rs 400,500. Phil Sanders emerged victorious outlasting 89 players. He defeated Mihir Mehta in the heads-up battle which lasted for more than 2 hours. Phil Sanders claimed the first ever APT Title and a decent sum of Rs 136,200 for his excellent game play.
