August 15, 2012 - For the first time in history, the Asian Poker Tour will step outside of Asia and hold its next stop on the beautiful island of Mauritius from the 19th to 26th of August, 2012.
Eight days of fun filled poker action with local Mauritian players having to battle it out against poker players from Reunion, South Africa, Asia and the rest of the world.
The event will take place in Ti Vegas Casino at Grand Bay, which has held the biggest gathering of players in a tournament in the zone of Mascareignes.
The Main Event features a EUR 900 buy-in along with 10 Side Events with various buy-ins including Ladies of Poker Event on the 21st of August and a Charity Event on the 19th of August, which pays homage to an aspiring young poker player, Kevin Douce, whose death marked a great loss in the booming Mauritian poker industry. Add-ons from this Charity Event will be donated to Kevin’s family. The Main Event Final Table will have a live coverage at the event.
APT Asian Series Mauritius will be featured by Karine Lima on Paradise of Poker. This program can be seen on Tele Kreol on Saturdays at 11:00 PM, and in France on the AB Lucky Jack Channel.
