The news on the 2+2 forums about the apparent appearance of none other than Phil Ivey playing at the PokerStars high stakes tables has sent railbirds the world over into a frenzy of excitement.

The player known a RaiseOnce is widely rumoured to be the Las Vegas based superstar, although on PokerStars this name is showing as being in Mexico where Ivey is known to have a holiday home in Cabo link

There had been a previous discussion on the identity of RaiseOnce a few years ago when it was all but accepted that this was a Phil Ivey account, with "evidence" including the fact that both Phil Ivey at Full Tilt and RaiseOnce on PokerStars both lost their connection to the respective sites and regained them again at the same time. Also the nosebleed stakes and variety of games played would dramatically reduce the possible list of candidates!

RaiseOnce has been seen sitting at high stakes draw, HORSE and PLO tables and recently played a heads up match against Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond over several tables of $200/$400 PLO where he lost $200k to Galfond before quitting (another Ivey trait is to often have a predetermined stop loss after which he will insta-quit)
