The MPC signature tournament is the Red Dragon event and the HKD $11,000 buy-in tournament boasts a whopping HKD $3,000,000 Guarantee beginning 2011. The event attracts the world’s top players where they are assured of a deep-value slow structure with a start bank of 15,000 chips running over three days. The MPC also carries a wide variety of exciting tournaments that have each developed their own strong following including the Charity Event that benefits local charities such as Caritas de Macau and the Macau Child Development Association.


Since 2009, PokerStars Macau has concluded the MPC series with the Macau Poker Cup Championship (MPCC) which features the HKD $20,000 buy-in Main Event. The next MPCC takes place from October 7-16, 2011 and the Main Event will have a HKD $4,500,000 Guarantee.

Event 3 Draws 195 at Macau Poker Cup

MACAU, CHINA, August 8, 2011 – The Macau Poker Cup: Red Dragon attracted 195 runners to PokerStars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa for Event 3: Deepstack

The Monday night tournament was the biggest field so far in the 9-day poker celebration where the field sizes and prize pools are only expected to grow as the week approaches the Red Dragon main event which runs from August 11-14.

"It's been a solid start to the Macau Poker Cup but the numbers will really hit fourth gear beginning Wednesday." said Dom Choi, Team PokerStars Pro Manager. "We've already confirmed a record 63 online qualifiers to the main event and there are still more satellites running. The buzz surrounding the Red Dragon and High Rollers event is tremendous.

The Deepstack event will play down to 22 players who will advance to Tuesday's Day 2 final. All Day 2 players will be in the money for a piece of the HKD $260,715 prize pool with the winner receiving HKD $63,900.
