APT CEO, Jeff Mann said at the contract signing that he was delighted that APT was moving beyond the borders of Asia. He said “We are responding to demand: our regular players throughout Asia are requesting more APT events in new locations and we have event organisers, casinos and venues worldwide now requesting to host an APT week”.
He added “We are delighted to be working with a long term supporter of APT, MPPL/Paradise Events, who are the leading organiser of poker tournaments in this part of the World and Ti Vegas, one of the leading casinos on the island and at the forefront of poker development locally”.
“Players from this part of the World know APT and we have finally achieved our goal of bringing APT to Mauritius. Without doubt it is going to be a huge success”, added Mr. Sylvain Liotard, CEO of Paradise Events and MPPL.
The Asian Poker Tour has definitely shown a noteworthy growth in recent years. In 2010, they had only 2 events held and in 2012 with this new announcement APT staged to host at least eight major poker event weeks. Mann also confirmed that 2013 will see at least ten events being staged throughout the year.
