The longest-running tournament in the world, World Series of Poker (WSOP), is coming back for its 48th Edition this year with a bang. Also considered the World`s richest sporting event, the series will be held from May 30 to July 17 this year, and yesterday confirmed the schedule for it`s flagship weekend events. The signature events this year have been lined up for the weekends and the strategic placement is done to attract more poker enthusiasts who will now have the opportunity to win even bigger prizes.

The series will kickoff on Tuesday, May 30, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, with something on offer for everyone including gold bracelet events, satellites, cash games and a quartet of daily deep stack tournaments running for 49 consecutive days, with the WSOP Main Event reaching its final nine players on Monday, July 17.

The opening weekend event features the return of the world’s largest live poker event Colossus III which will be a $565 buy-in re-entry no-limit hold’em tournament featuring a guaranteed $1 million first place prize.

Millionaire Maker is scheduled the following weekend with a $1 million guaranteed first-place prize in this no-limit hold’em event.

The standard $1,500 no-limit hold’em tournament is also scheduled on June 17 coinciding with the EDC Music Festival in Las Vegas.

The Monster Stack and Crazy Eights tournaments will also be back this time. While the former will have 10 times its starting stack with 15,000 in tournament chips, the latter, that made its debut in 2016, promises its winner $888,888 in prize money. The event will be run eight-handed at each table with unlimited re-entry during open registration.

The Little One for One Drop will once again be the final official WSOP gold bracelet event of the series and feature a $1,000 buy in no-limit hold’em format with unlimited re-entries during the late registration period.

Like every year, players are given credit card payment options for entering WSOP tournaments. However, this year, the regulatory approval has been granted for credit card transactions up to $10,000, and now players can buy into the Main Event and most other WSOP events with an approved credit card.

The full event-by-event schedule for WSOP 2017 is expected to be released in February.
