The inaugural PokerGuru Tour got off to a flying start with prizepool guarantees easily crushed on all days. We had players representing 12 countries with many tournament regulars joining some of the finest players in India to take a shot at the impressive prizes and a PGT title. PGT also welcomed APPT Macau (PokerStars) Tournament Director Danny Mc Donagh and Team PokerStars Asia Pro Bryan Huang who came down to attend the series all the way from Macau.

Day 1: 5K Rebuy

Day 1 saw 82 runners battling it out for a share of the ₹10,55,000 prizepool and the 1st PGT title. It was Team PokerGuru Pro “Himanshu Laul” who took a commanding chip lead early on and seemed almost certain of a deep finish but a few flips followed by a card dead period saw his stack dwindling and he failed to make it into the money. Tournament regular Arjun Singh was the unlucky player to go out on the money bubble. The 5k Rebuy event had the final table scheduled to be played on Day 2, but a same day finish was requested by all finalists. However , the blinds were taken back to 800/1600 for the final table which gave the players lots of play and contributed for a very entertaining and exciting Final Table.

The 25K Freezeout PGT Main Event was the featured event of the Tournament series and it didn’t disappoint the players who were looking forward to some deep stacked quality play! In addition to the attractive prize pool, all Team PokerGuru Pros carried a bounty of ₹2,500 on them. Team PokerStars Asia Pro “Bryan Huang” had a bonus bounty of ₹5,000 along with $500 in Tournament Buy-ins to the Macau Poker Cup and 2 nights’ accommodation at the 5 star Hotel Lisboa (Courtesy of PokerStars). Of course we can’t forget the beautiful PokerGuru Champion`s Silver Trophy.Day 2: 25K Freezeout Main Event

Team Pro Aditya Sushant was the first to give away his bounty to Anosh Patel who rivered a set to end Donkab0mber`s run in the Main Event. Team Pros Jasven Saigal and Amit Varma made early exits too. Team PokerGuru Mentor Aditya “Intervention” Agarwal, who had the chip lead for a long time, got unlucky with pocket rockets against Kavin Shah and just missed making the final table. However, the most brutal of all was the money bubble finish by Team Pro Tushar Makhija.

The Main Event Final table was played on the next day at 6 pm and was one of the toughest battles we have seen in a long time. Particularly impressive on the final table was Prabhat Mukherjea who entered the final table short stacked but managed a runner up finish. Finally it was Team PokerGuru Pro Sangeeth “Samohh” Mohan who was the last man standing and in addition to the ₹7 Lakhs in prize money, he also won the bounty on Bryan Huang having taken him out in 7th place.
