Another exciting edition of IPS was concluded on 20th Nov 2011 and as anticipated by the tournament organizers the numbers were adversely affected by the APT Goa Series which preceded IPS Chapter 9. Nevertheless plenty of poker action and a lot of new faces were a testimony to the growing interest for this sport in the country. The highlight of the IPS calendar was the Champ of Champs Event which saw the crowning of IPS regular YJ Kim as the 1st IPS “Champ of Champs”.

Day 1 - Thu 17th Nov 2011 at 9 PM – 7.5K Re-Entry with Entry to Main Event Tournament
The very first event of IPS Chapter 9 received a field of 50 players and with 10 re-entries the total prizepool was 225,000 INR. Top 5 places were paid along with a seat worth 25,000 INR to the "IPS Champ of Champs 2011 Event" to be held on 19th November 2011. The winner received a sum of 100,000 INR. The final table was played 9 handed and Aeidrianus Verhoef from Holland was the unlucky money bubble. Anastasia Murzina from Russia ultimately won the event and became the 1st lady winner of an IPS event.

Day 2 - Fri 18th Nov 2011 at 9 PM – 5K Re-Buy Tournament
This event saw 52 entrants making an attempt for the top prize. 31 re-entries and 32 add-ons inflated the prizepool to a healthy 492,500 INR. Again top 5 finishers were paid and the winner received a sum of 200,000 INR and a seat to “IPS Champ of Champs 2011 Event”. Shashank Desai was the unlucky money bubble boy in the event while Vaneet Grewal was the last man standing after defeating Ian Moskowitz of USA in a fiercely contested heads-up battle.

Day 3 - Sat 19th Nov 2011 at 7 PM – 25K Freeze-Out Tournament (MAIN EVENT)
The event everyone playing the series was waiting for - The main event of IPS Chapter 9 saw a field of 42 players battling it out for the Champ of Champs title. Top 5 places were paid from a prizepool of 945,000 INR. It was YJ Kim against Pavana Kishore heads-up for the title in what was to be a 2.5 hour roller coaster ride but YJ Kim eventually took down the title of the Champ of Champs pocketing a healthy INR 4 Lacs while Pavana took home INR 2.45 Lacs for her runners-up finish.

Day 4 - Sun 20th Nov 2011 at 7 PM – 10K Re-Entry Tournament
28 players attended this event and 2 re-entries took place making the total entries 30. Top 4 places were paid from a prizepool of 270,000 INR. Sumit Kothari was the bubble boy for the event. Anto Pereira took home the lion`s share of the prizepool for his 1st place finish. IPP director Vikram Verma was the 1st runner up and he received 75,000 INR.

Day 4 – Sun 20th Nov 2011 at 9 pm – 5K Ladies of Poker
The ladies event saw 12 participants of which top 3 were paid. 100% of the prizepool was distributed in this event. The experienced Padmasree Bhakta won the title and received 60,000 INR. Pushpa Ravikumar was the 1st runner up and she received 36,000 INR while Pavana Kishore finished 3rd taking home 24,000 INR.

IPS and IPP have taken their collaboration one step further and announced a joint event under the branding “India Pros Poker Series”.
Season 1 of the India Pros Poker Series will be held from 15th - 18th December.

Day 4 - 18th Dec 2011 – 6 pm - Super Sunday – FINAL TABLE OF THE MAIN EVENT
