The week of 20th – 27th January was filled with poker action on the live and online felt. PokerStars’s Turbo Championship of Online Poker was in full swing and live the Aussie Millions 2013 started, as well as the invitational NBC Heads-up Championship.

Aussie Millions 2013
Just after last week’s poker action at the PCA in the Bahamas, another live tournament series has started: The Aussie Millions 2013, held in the Crown Casino of Melbourne, Australia, kicked off on January 17th with the AU$ 1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Opening Event.
Rupert Elder was the last man standing and won AU$ 250,000 for his efforts.
The 2013 Aussie Millions $AU 100,000 Challenge and Main Event will commence from January 27th onwards.
Rational Group moves forward in acquiring the Atlantic Club Casino
The holding company of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, the Rational Group, has confirmed to PokerNews, through spokesperson Eric Hollreiser, that the company has agreed to acquire the the casino from Resorts International Holdings.
“The acquisition of The Atlantic Club Casino Hotel will secure up to 2,000 jobs and maintain the economic benefits the casino brings to New Jersey,” Hollreiser said. “During this interim period, the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel will operate as normal under current management, who will be retained following completion of the acquisition.”
Mike Matusow wins the NBC Heads-up Championship for $750.000
In 3 days of No-Limit Hold’em Heads-up action, Mike Matusow bested his 4 opponents, with the last one being the previous winner and poker legend Phil Hellmuth.
Matusow exclaimed “You gotta go for it baby, I told you it was my time” after winning the final hand, the title and $750.000.
