The rocky times for Poker in Gujarat continue, with local police authorities raiding the third poker room in the state. In the past fortnight, two other poker clubs have been raided starting with one in Surat on April 30, followed by another in Ahmedabad shortly thereafter.

According to a report on Glaws.in, Headquarter Poker Room in Ahmedabad which was being run by Amin Rozani and Vasim Rozani was recently raided though no information is available as to the arrests (if any) made during the raid and/or the cash and valuables confiscated by the police.

Legal ace and IPA Secretary KN Suresh however, was open about his views and spoke to Glaws.in on this new development, “The player interest is paramount for IPA. While we know that Headquarters is right and that there is nothing illegal about the activity, we think it would have been prudent to clarify as we propose to do when our matter comes up tomorrow before we resume games, it is the only fair thing to do for players.”

These raids have raised a lot of concerns for the Indian poker community especially in light of the facts that numerous petitions on the matter are pending in the High Court of Gujarat.
