The fortunes of online poker seem to be rising here in India. Nagaland has just granted the sixth online gaming license to Sachar Gaming Pvt. Ltd., which runs Khelplay.com (poker site) and Khelplayrummy.com (rummy platform). Sachar Gaming is the only company to have applied and received a license for a ‘bouquet of games’.

The news broke out on Glaws.in and quoted PK Jain, Head Operations, Sachar Gaming, who said, “We are pleased to have received the license for online skill games from the Nagaland government. The license will bring greater credibility to our brand and ensure that our players feel safe and secure while playing on our website.”

Recently, PokerBaazi had received the fifth license from Nagaland, but like all others before, the license was limited only to offering poker products. However, Sachar Gaming applied for a license that will allow them to offer a wide variety of games such as poker, rummy, virtual sport fantasy league games, auctions and binary options, and virtual team selection games.

As per the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Rules, 2015 a license for ‘bouquet of games’ costs ₹25 Lakhs in fees to the government, while the payment for only one game is ₹10 Lakhs.

The licensing regime will also enable us to aggressively expand, market and advertise our games. It will also allow us to add newer games and products, which we aim to launch soon. The license will also help us achieve our vision of being the leading skill games operator in the country,” Jain added.
