Prasanna Jayappa Wins THOS Chip Hop Hustle Eminem Event

The latest edition of THOS tournament series, the Chip Hop Hustle is based on a hip-hop theme and as the name suggests the six-day series has events named after popular rap stars. The tournament took off with the “The Eminem” ₹6K Freezeout event, which unfolded at the Golden Aces poker room in Jayanagar, Bengaluru.

The PokerGuru live reporting team was on the floor right from the start, but due to connectivity issues at the venue, was unable to put up live updates for the first hour.

After over five hours of play, tournament regular and a consistent player, with more than 10 final table finishes, Prasanna Jayappa (cover image), won the event. After the win, he told PokerGuru, “So many final tables, I have finished runners-up once and finally got the well deserving win. Feels great, I am literally out of words.”

 

Event Round-Up

The event had a player entry of 52 registrations. Initially, only the top five players were to make the money, but later this was changed to top six with the remaining players deciding to insure the bubble.

Within three hours of play, a number of eliminations took place and by 7.30pm only 21 players remained, with THOS Weekender champion, Sanjay Chauudhary leading the chip counts with 17,750 chips.

Another 40 minutes later, however, seven more players hit the rails and by 8.10pm, it was Manoj R, who led the final 14 with 45,925 chips.

Manoj then went on to bust Sheetal Kumar on the final table bubble, just 30 minutes later. Sheetal went all in with against Manoj R`s .

The board decided to favor Manoj, causing Sheetal to exit at 10th place, leaving a final table of 9 players.

Manoj now had 30% of the chips in play and the counts read as follows:

5 minutes into the final table, Mumbai pro, Shravan Chhabria claimed a huge pot, by eliminating Chirag S and Ajit in a big three-way hand. The hand saw all the money going in, even as Shravan held .The flop came down . Chirag had and Ajit tabled . The turn and river with saw both hitting the rails and Shravan increasing his stack.

Next, it was the turn of IPC defending champion Kanishka Samant, who was busted by ultimate winner Prasanna Jayappa. Samant retired at 7th place, leaving the remaining six players in the money.

Sanjay Chauudhary, who recently put up a stellar performance at the THOS Wekender serieswith two wins and one runner-up finish was the next to make an exit and it was once again Shravan who eliminated him. Sanjay retired at 6th place, when his failed to cope against Shravan’s on a board of .

Shri Vatsa and Amit Chopra followed at 5th and 4th places respectively.

Manoj R,who had been laying low in the interim, now emerged to eliminate Shravan at 3rd place. Shravan moved all-in for 14,500 and got a caller in Manoj R. Shravan tabled against Manoj’s . The board read out and Manoj collected the pot.

Heads up play was short one between Manoj and Prasanna and lasted a mere 10 minutes.

On the final hand, Manoj held and Prasanna had a pair of 8’s. The board with . relegating Manoj to the runner up position and Prasanna was decleared champion of the Eminem Edition at this edition of THOS.
