PokerGuru Mentorship Program Gets Tremendous Response
hhh

India’s first 90-days mentorship program for poker drew an overwhelming response at PokerGuru with more than 60 applicants aspiring to join the program. “It was tough picking the final 21,” said Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal, the lead mentor of the program, who personally selected the 21 chosen candidates.

The members selected were Nitish Gupta, Rajnish Kumar, Simon Mint, Ashutosh Naik, Olli Virkkunen, Mukesh Jethwani, Laveena Belani, Danish Shaikh, Prabhat Mukherjea, Sumit Sapra, Nehal Kapadi, Sachin Sinha, Jagdeep Singh, Arjun Parmar, Prateek Verma, Shashank Santosh, Vinay Suchede, Siddarth Singhvi, Ankur Gupta, Phaninder and Shawn Chatterton.

For those names that did not figure in the above list, there’ll still be plenty at PokerGuru forums to learn from. Aspiring players can still write to our mentors, post hands for advise on the forum and blog on the website. “For those who didn’t make it to the final 21, I would encourage you to apply again next time. There were a lot of you I really wanted to take in the group but we had to limit the number. In the meantime, I would suggest working on your game as much as you can so you in better position to take advantage of such future programs. It was important to me that all students are financially independent to play on their own and not be financially dependent on us for staking,” said Aditya.

The program kicked off this week with an online skype session before the Poker Guru Tour Season 2 May Edition, which will be held at Casino Royale in Goa from May 10th-13th. PokerGuru mentors headed by Aditya will identify the most talented, committed and loyal students of the game during the next three months. The players would then be offered a place on the pro team with a staking deal. The group of 21 will be initially split into two and Aditya will hold one 2 hours session for each group each week. As part of the program, all the 21 selected players will be required to blog at least once a week on PokerGuru – discussing their week’s experience with all PokerGuru members.

Some weekly aspects to blog about:

~ A compulsory description of one hand of the week, and how you played it

~ At least two compulsory replies to threads on PokerGuru

~ What you learnt this week?

~ Anything new you implemented?

~ How much you won/lost, the volume of play?

Team Mentors will be able to track member progress and PokerGuru members will also be able to participate in the learning process by posting comments and questions on the forum. Team Mentors will reply to all unresolved queries on the PokerGuru Forum.

Need advise on a hand? Post them on the hand advise section on the PokerGuru Forum.
