Justin Bieber Spotted at a Poker Game

He may be a superstar and a heartthrob of millions, who await his every song, but Justin Bieber seems to have a passion of his own, which is evidently increasing by the day.

We are talking about poker! The 22-year old singer and songwriter had posted an image of himself playing poker for candy rather than real money in 2015. However, he seems to have graduated since then, as later, he was spotted playing at a tribal casino in California and this July, he was busy at the game at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

Bieber is currently on tour in the UK and just a day ago, was busy chastising unruly fans by asking them to “take a chill pill.” Obviously, the star was himself doing the same last week, when he was caught playing late in the night at London’s Empire Casino!

The stakes were as low as £200, truly minimal for the man who is currently renting a palatial home in London for as much as £108,333 a month. £200 converts to approximately just $244.6; maybe next year we will find Bieber upping the ante to attend the World Series of Poker (WSOP), where the lowest buy-in is a mere $565!

Kevin Costner May Star as Reel Father to ‘Poker Princess’

With two Academy awards, among others and countless top-rated films, Kevin Costner has made hearts swoon over his acting and his good looks. Today, at the age of 61, he continues to remain an A-list actor.

News has now come in that Costner may be a part of the film, “Molly’s Game” based on the controversial book by Molly Bloom aka ‘Poker Princess’. Bloom had hosted high stakes poker games to the likes of Leo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt, Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon among others.

Caught and having spent time in jail, the lady wrote a book, which is now being made into a full-fledged Hollywood film.

The film is being directed by Aaron Sorkin and has already signed up Idris Alba and Jessica Chastain in lead roles. Michael Cera is also being considered for the role of a poker player.

On a high, Sorkin has earlier remarked about his lead pair saying, “The casting of Jessica and Idris in the two lead roles is any film-maker’s dream come true. They’re two of the greatest actors of their generation, paired for the first time, and their chemistry will be electric.

While Sorkin has yet to confirm the casting of Costner in the film, it is rumored that he has been slated to play the role of Molly’s father!

What a waste, we say!

‘Poker Brat’ Autobiography to Exude ‘Positivity’

He is unique as a pro in poker world and not just for his achievements at the felts, but also for his eccentric ways (remember his get-up as a rabbit?) and child-like antics at tournaments, not to forget his tantrums!

Well, Phil Hellmuth or ‘Poker Brat’ as his moniker goes is now releasing his autobiography titled the same. The book will trace his phenomenal ascent to one of the global stalwarts of poker. It will also have Hellmuth take a tongue-in-cheek look at “the development of the Poker Brat, how [he] came from struggling so much with ego to finding great success.”

Hellmuth states that this, his, “next book will be about positivity and how to achieve great things in life.”

The book is scheduled for a January 2017 release.

Bilzerian Makes $5 Million Bet; to Cross Atlantic Ocean Alone

Dan Bilzerian is at it again, making headlines with his startling statements and nutty prop-bets. This time the King of Instagram has made a $5 million bet that he will make a ‘solo’ trip across the Atlantic!

And yes, once again the bet is with Bill Perkins, hedge-fund manager and player. Remember, the two had entered into a crazy Las Vegas to Los Angeles bicycle prop-bet, which Bilzerian had ultimately had won for approximately $1 million and later Brian Rast had also been dragged into doing the same?!

Well, this time the stakes are higher, in money and in risks. Bilzerian has stated that the distance covered would be about 3000 miles and that he would need 3 months for it. He further added that the training he required would be “probably a lot of rowing,” and laughed that he had not yet made any plans for the journey. For the bicycle bet, Bilzerian spent a six-figure sum for training from Lance Armstrong.

According to the high-stakes player, it is a breeze though, as fewer people have been into space as crossed the Atlantic, with the feat being on par with climbing the Everest mountain!

Last year, a 70-year old man attempted the crossing, but had to be rescued after a storm in 84 days. Bilzerian is half that age and claims that he has done far more dangerous things.

The man has a collection of lethal guns, explosives, planes and more, but says that he is indulging in this bet as he has “lost a few million” playing poker this year. That too, in spite of playing poker only once or twice a month. He believes he will be able to recover that money with this rowing bet!!!

We believe you Dan, we have no choice but to!

Phew! Trust our eccentric players to come up with what most would think twice about. With that we are off to have some beer of our own, though we are sure to be back soon considering the autumn madness!

P.S.

Did you know that since gambling is illegal in Japan, winners are given prizes. They can then sell these prizes back to the gambling den for cash!
