Year-endings are usually stock-taking times and so here we are with a compilation of the Top 5 online scores of 2016. Additionally, the year was certainly a rocking one for Indian poker and players left no stone unturned in proving their mettle, leading to an increase in Indian scores at international tournaments.

While, regulars continued to enhance their already reputed portfolios, 2016 also saw a number of young and unknown players emerge into the spotlight with impressive wins.

Here we present you the Top 5 Online Scores of 2016 and if you see just four player’s picture as our cover image, rest assured it’s no mistake. It’s just India’s pioneering pro Aditya Agarwal, doing what he does best – notching up the greatest scores and this time two of those make it to this list!

Aditya ‘Adi Agarwal’ Agarwal (1st – TCOOP Event #50, $160,000)

India’s only internationally branded player and pioneer, Team PokerStars Pro was at his shining best this year. Marriage seems to have suited the 32-year old pro, who began blazing a trail of impressive scores, both online and live (five WSOP cashes alone) right after his nuptials in January this year.

The pro’s highest win was at the PokerStars TCOOP-50: $215 NLHE Wrap-Up [Hyper-Turbo, Deep, 1R1A], $1M Gtd for a whopping $160,000 in late January itself.

Aditya continued collecting impressive numbers all through the year, taking the ‘PokerGuru Star of the Week’ title eight times. The pro also made $11,766 in the PokerStars Hot $162, $75K Gtd for a runner-up finish, plus one more second place, this time in the $109+R Sunday Rebuy, $175K Gtd for $24,783.

With the latter increasing in number and hosting numerous tournaments, we figure it won’t be long before we will be able to have a similar list for Indian scores as well.
