A latest update from Glaws.in states that the bill to legalize online gambling in Nagaland is being processed quickly. The Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Bill, 2015 has now been sent by the legislative assembly to a committee comprising of five select members. This five-member panel will study and deliberate on which games can be included in the bill.

Currently the bill allows a licensing authority the power to regulate and license online games of skill, via operators for revenue, with rakes, fees, etc. More importantly, the bill also lets licensed operators to offer specially listed skill games to any jurisdiction in India, where such have been exempted from ambits of gaming statutes.

Once the panel submits its suggestions, the assembly will take a call on whether to implement these or not. The House can either continue with the bill as it is or even withdraw. The next developments are set to be highly interesting for the outcomes will surely influence the entire country’s skill games scenario.
