The finale is here with the Macau Poker Cup 27 Red Dragon Main Event now down to the eight-handed final table headlined by Malaysian banker Kian Weng Choong. Choong will be looking to lock down the HK$3.47 million first prize on the final day of the event.

Team India saw its sole remaining contender Ankush Prasad hitting the rails on Day 3 Prasad missed the final table by a whisker and exited in tenth place, pocketing a cool HK$223,000 (~₹18,25,621) in prize money. Prasad’s elimination came in the last hand of the day and saw the double elimination of Prasad and Yuan Hang Zhong at the hands of Tong Tan.

A total of four Indian players cashed in the signature Red Dragon event namely Pradeep Nudurumati who finished 83rd for ₹3,06,901, Prashant Jain Bhutoria who exited the event in 125th place for ₹2,79,038 and Manoj Pentakota who pocketed ₹2,51,175 for his 158thplace finish.

End-of-day chip leader Kian Weng Choong navigated his way to the final table well and will be taking a massive 7.19 million stack to the final table. Following Choong are two Singapore based players namely Calvin Tan (5.17 million) and Tong Tan (3.3 million).

Start-of-day chip leader Thomas Ward admittedly looked hungover thanks to the Players Party the previous night, but he still fought valiantly eventually busting in 12th place.

Other notables who fell on Day 3 include Bobby Zhang, Hongli Ding, Iori Yogo and Nan Tu.

The sole Indian player in the running - Ankush Prasad was going strong and looking in good shape to make the final table but he lost out in one of the most crucial hands of the day which also turned out to be the final hand of play yesterday.

Tan clipped an Ace-pair on the card 3card 3card 2card 2card 1 board to send both Prasad and Zhong packing.
