Katsuhiro Muto Wins APT Korea Main Event For KRW 1,650,000

The Paradise Casino at Jeju once again played host to the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Korea 2017, which also had the Poker King Club, J&P Inc. as its partners. The series ran from March 23 to 28 and featured 13 side events, along with its KRW 1,650,000 Main Event.

Taking down that Main Event was Katsuhiro Muto (cover image) for his first APT title and a payday of KRW 22,570,000.

Side event winners included Jin Mingji for the Main Event Warm Up, Ryan Yu at the Head Hunter and Ryo Nishihara at the WLS Deep Stack Turbo, among others.

Meanwhile Daiki Horikawa won the APT Korea 2017 ‘Player of the Series’ title.

 

KRW 1,650,000 Main Event

The Event began with several notables in the fray such as Main Event winners Takumi Samejima (APT Kickoff 2017) and Nayoung Kim (APT Daegu 2017); Japanese superstar GACKT and APT Regional (China) Player of the Year Hung-Sheng Lin, as well as the first woman to win an APT Main Event – Nayoung Kim (APT Daegu 2016).

Though Germany’s Killian Loffler had the chip lead at the end of Day 2, Muto prevailed on the final day and claimed the title after a heads up against Yamato Nakai, a young gun from Japan.

The flop was promising for Nakai but the turn and river of and declared Muto the champion and Nakai settled for a second place finish.

The next stop on schedule will be the APT Championships Philippines 2017 to run from April 26 to May 7 at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, Philippines.
