PokerGuru Tour December Edition kicked off in style and saw the crowning of 2 new champions along with some very entertaining poker action during the weekend leading up to the PGT Main Event.

The PGT High Rollers event was the 1st ever High Rollers 6-Max tournament to be held in the country and its deep stacked structure with antes from the start made it all the more interesting. As expected, the tournament attracted a very competitive field of 30 players including Team Mentors Rohit Bhalla, Raman Gujral and Aditya “Intervention” Agarwal. Team Pros Sangeeth Mohan, Kunal Chandra, Pulkit Kalia and Amit Varma were other notables in the fray however all made early exits with Rohit Bhalla the last Team Pro to be eliminated in 10th place.

It eventually got down to High Stakes cash game regular Samay Parikh, PokerStars Main Event Qualifier Johannes Jansen, Tournament regular Husain Lakdawala and MPC High Roller Event winner Rahul Byraju who made it in the money rounding up the top 4 positions. Rahul Byraju was the first among them to be eliminated when his were cracked by Husain`s . Husain was the relative short stack and seemed content on watching both Samay and Johannes fight it out almost every hand but with the increasing blind levels he finally pushed all in with on a board and got snapped by Samay with . River was a brick and we were heads-up for the PGT High Roller Event title.

Both Johannes and Samay continued their aggression, trading blows every single hand and the battle continued till the last hand was played with the odds changing in every showdown but it was all over when Johannes announced allin with and Samay woke up with cowboys . The board ran a blank for Johannes and we had our first ever PGT 6-Max High Roller`s Champion ā€“ Samay Parikh.

Rishabh got unlucky with against Kunal Chandra`s when Kunal hit a 7 on the board and went out of the Event on the money bubble. Johannes continued his dominance at the final table eliminating both Team Mentor Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal and Rahul Byraju in 4th and 3rd place respectively. A swingy heads up battle ensued between Team Pro Kunal Chandra and PGT High Roller Runner-up Johannes Jansen but eventually got down to the final hand when Kunal had Johannes dominated with against his and the board threw no surprises. Team PokerGuru Pro Kunal Chandra was crowned the PGT Event 2: 5K Rebuy Champion and Johannes Jansen from Holland made it two consecutive runners-up finishes here at the PGT!
