Jonas ‘llJaYJaYll’ Lauck Takes Down WCOOP Main Event For $1,517,541, Shyam ‘G’s zee’ Srinivasan Claims 2nd Title in Event 80 For $102,747

The 2016 WCOOP is finally over and the champion of the series to emerge was Jonas ‘llJaYJaYll’ Lauck, who defeated a 2,091-strong field to claim the title of the $5000 Main Event for a life-changing sum of $1,517,541. Making a deep run at the event for a second year in a row was Team PokerStars Pro Aditya ‘Adi Agarwal’ Agarwal who finished at 16th place for $61.475.37 in prize money!

As the series ended, Indian-origin Shyam ‘G’s zee’ Srinivasan picked up his second title in Event 80 – ($700 NLHE, 1R1A) for $102,747.49.

Young Guns Shravan Chhabria and Karan Radia final tabled the Mini-WCOOP $50 NLH Main Event. Chhabria made a fourth place, with Radia finishing seventh.

 

WCOOP Main Event

Jonas ‘llJaYJaYll’ Lauck won the WCOOP – 78, $5000 NLH Main Event for $1,517,541. The pro who is already a distinguished player both, online and live overcame 2,091 entries to collect more than his former all-time earnings of $1.3 million.

Team PokerStars Pro Aditya Agarwal finished at 16th place for $61.475.37, following up on his 13th place finish in the same event last year.

Some of the former WCOOP champions include Fedor Holz (2014), Yevgeniy Timoshenko (2009), Carter King (2008) and JC Tran (2006).

The event had a prize pool of $10,052,879.79, with the top 224 finishers making the money.

The final table began with Lauck at a disadvantage, with “uknowProsky*” and “Gambler4444” having the lead.

Lauck almost lost it all, when his his ace-king got cracked by the ace-queen of “Olorionek”, but he soon recovered after his aces overcame the queens of “Gambler4444”.

“axtipitos_86” took the first elimination by railing Finnish player “deadfizh” in ninth with Malta’s “gorodski” following at eighth place.

After that Lauck first doubled up from “uknowProsky*” and finally busted him at seventh place with holding up in a preflop all in clash against the latter’s pocket fours.

“Olorionek”and “axtipitos_86” exited at sixth and fifth places respectively.

A four-handed deal was discussed, but no agreement was reached, with play moving on. Making a fourth place finish was “Gambler4444”, who was ousted by “0409479”.Following him at third place was “R_Scientist”, whose king-jack failed against Lauck’s eights.

Lauck then faced UK’s “0409479” in the heads up match and started off with a 3 to 2 lead against the latter. The play ended after an hour when both players were in a preflop raising war that ended with a five-bet shove from 0409479.

The board ran out clinching the title for Lauck, while ‘0409479’ took home $1,101,278.90 for a second place finish.

WCOOP Event 80 – ($700 NLHE, 1R1A)

Shyam ‘G’s zee’ Srinivasan collected his second WCOOP title in Event 80 $700 No-Limit Hold’em (1R1A) for $102,747.49. Srinivasan fought a tough final table, finally defeating James ‘Andy McLEOD’ Obst at heads-up to win the event.

The event drew 474 runners, creating a prize pool of $575,621, with the top 55 finishers making the money.
