Jason Somerville (cover image) continues on a high. He has now signed up a new agreement with DraftKings, the daily fantasy sports (DFS) giant. Somerville is already a Team PokerStars pro, since Feb this year. The full terms of his new deal with DraftKings are not yet out, but he will represent both sites.

Somerville recently renewed his agreement with Twitch TV for another 2 years for his Run it UP channel. He also announced his first live event with Run it UP Reno, to be hosted at the Pepper Mill from Oct 20 to 25 in Reno.

The new DraftKings agreement will have the site running satellites to this Reno event, while Somerville will promote the site from his Twitch TV platform.

The news has come as a surprise for many, as recently Amaya had acquired the Texas-based Victiv to push its ambitions in the DFS market. Amaya will be relaunching Victiv as StarDraft and it would have been more logical to hear Somerville join hands with his PokerStars mentors.

Reports state that Somerville was highly reluctant to promote DFS in his programme, but had a change of heart only after DraftKings introduced UFC events. Somerville is slated to be a big fan of UFC events and has just opened a DraftKings account. He is reported to have told Legal Sports Report that, “I wouldn’t have been able to do this without UFC.”

DraftKings is expected to profit greatly from the alliance, especially seeing how Somerville enjoys a viewership of 1.4 million in the United States alone for his show.
