The curtains finally came down on the Aug IPC and if there was an ovation, it would have been a thundering one, for one of the most successful series it has seen ever.

The IPC August edition superseded all others ever held; with each event breaking past player-entry records and the 30K Main Event was no exception as it witnessed a massive 248-crowd of runners! This field shattered the earlier recorded highest number of 236 players seen in the IPC April edition.

Abhishek Ravi (cover image) was the ultimate winner, making his first tournament win for ₹16.4 Lakhs. The exhausted Delhi-based player was able to just utter a few words after the long play. “I never expected this, it feels awesome though” Ravi told the PokerGuru team on site.

After keeping a low profile throughout, Ravi emerged out of oblivion at the final table, refusing to let go of the chip advantage, once he had it, until he claimed the title.

It was Uday Bansal, who did take the lead initially, making eliminations and putting up a tough resistance in the heads up play. However, Bansal finally settled the runner up for a tidy sum of ₹10.4 Lakhs.

The player who blazed throughout the weekend though, was Rajeev Kanjani, who once again played impressively, making his second final table in as many days. Kanjani entered the Main Event shortly after his 4th place finish in the ₹60K Highroller. This combined with his 3rd place finish in the Main Event, netted Kanjani a total of ₹14.67 lakhs in prize money over the weekend.

Though the Main Event began on time, our live updates for the first day were delayed, as the PokerGuru team was busy covering the 60K Highroller final table, which had an extended and thrilling finale.

The large entry-crowd generated a prize pool of ₹63.24 Lakhs at the Main Event and the top 25 players made the money. Once again, the Deltin Royale poker room was brimming with notable players from all over, besides a number of fresh talents.

Even as the final players were battling out at the Main Event, the newly introduced ₹8K Greed Knockout Event kicked off with a record turnout of 184 players. A fun format made the event highly interesting.

The ultimate champion of the event was Anudeep Srinivas, who made up for getting eliminated early on in the Main event. Anudeep collected the title for the first-ever Greed Event at the IPC, as well as the top prize of ₹3.85 Lakhs.
