hhh

Singapore’s Patrick Kar Keng Lee rejoiced after his win in the Red Dragon Event of the August Macau Poker Cup (MPC), sponsored by PokerStars. MPC’s main attraction, the Red Dragon event, witnessed a fierce battle between 478 players from 39 countries with the largest groups of players coming from Japan (92), Hong Kong (81), Chinese Taipei (44) and China (42). The guarantee of HKD 3,000,000 was easily surpassed with the prize pool  reaching HKD 4,780,000 and HKD 1,039,700 for the 1st place, making it the 2nd largest in MPC’s history.

Xiaobo Zhou of China was the Day 3 chip leader with 844,000 chips followed by Yang Zhang of China (605,000 chips), Chen Lu of China (520,000 chips) and Patrick Lee with 142,000 chips. The 1st level of the Final day started off with 9 players being sent to the rail and within two and a half levels of play the final 9 players were determined. Xiaobo Zhou continued his dominance on the Final table consisting of 4 players from China, one from Japan, Poland, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States each.

Malaysia’s Jun Wah was eliminated in 4th place when his Ad Qc was out flopped by Zhou’s Ah 2s. Zhou lost the chip lead to Lee  during  a battle of the blinds which developed into a huge pot. On the turn Zhou check-raised all in with Ad Qs on a board reading 10d Kd 2c 4s after being three-bet by Lee on the flop, Lee snap called holding Ks 10c  to win a 4.9 million pot. A few hands later, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, holding Kd 3d, won with a flush to knock out Zhou in 3rd place.

Patrick Lee started heads-up play with a 2:1 chiplead . Tsuchikawa could not overcome  the pressure from Lee and dropped down to 1.1 million chips. On the last hand of the night, Tsuchikawa took a stand with 10d 10s  against Lee who held As Jc. The final board ran out Ad Qs 4s Ks 6h in favor of  Lee who claimed the Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Trophy and won HKD 1,039,700!
