The Dream Team Collection promotional that is currently on at PokerStars has a change, with Team PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu replacing sports star Neymar Jr, due advertising restrictions in Great Britain. The promo was to star the three soccer brand ambassadors of PokerStars, Christiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazário de Lima, besides Neymar Jr.

In a recent update at Pokernews.com, the site informed that the Dream Team Collection is one of their most expensive marketing campaigns. One lucky winner will stand to win $1 million in an all-in shootout. The campaign has puzzles, with pieces and games such as Spin n Gos that are to be overcome by the players to collect pieces and win prizes.

However, due to UK rules, Neymar Jr, who is 23 years old, is not eligible for such a promotion and PokerStars can only use players above 25. According to the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) website, “No one who is, or seems to be, under 25 years old may be featured gambling or playing a significant role.”

This has forced PokerStars to withdraw Neymar Jr from the campaign and replace him with Daniel Negreanu instead. Besides, the Dream Team Collection, PokerStars has also informed all its affiliates to not use Neymar Jr for any advertising aimed at the UK market. Though a setback, the replacement by Daniel Negreanu is expected to make as great an impact in the sports-theme based promotion.
