Andyz Sports Academy – First of Its Kind Sports Academy Launched In Bengaluru by Andy Morgan

Poker is rocking in India and how! The latest news to emerge is a Sports Academy in Bengaluru that would promote several games, including poker!

Andy Morgan, Founder, AndyzFC has initiated an Andyz Sports Academy in Bangalore, which is a brand owned by Euphoriaz Integrated Systems Pvt Ltd. The new sports academy would involve exclusive trained coaches to educate members in sports such as rock climbing, hockey, chess, badminton, swimming and poker.

Expanding on the start of this sports academy including poker, Andy Morgan cited the High Court judgement pronouncing poker as a game of skill and said that this was a way of giving the game its due recognition and promoting the sport. He said, “It was about time we had an academy like this in the city/country where one can visit and know they are being trained and guided by the national and international athletes. Our courses include poker, hockey, rock climbing, chess, swimming, badminton amid others to begin with. Honoring the Karnataka High Court’s verdict recognizing poker as a game of skill we have tailored great introductory courses to promote a sport that truly deserves a fair recognition in the country.”

Online, the academy website has posted the strong skills required for poker and states that the game, “puts your analytical, mathematical and interpersonal skills to test while most times challenging one’s own convictions. A sport for the truly courageous, known to push one’s mental and physical endurance to the limit.”

Jagroop Singh Chahal, a professional poker player has been designated the lead coach for the upcoming poker tutorials at the academy. AndyzSA consists of professional players Sahil Agarwal & Sangeeth Mohan as consultants for the poker curiculum. With this initiative, the case for poker in India is set to get a boost and a strong support in its case for legalization in the country.

Bengaluru is already teeming with poker rooms and several corporates and institutions regularly run poker-training sessions, to inculcate the skills of negotiation, mathematical and interpersonal communication in staff members. With such an academy, more interested and talented youngsters can now get specialized training and make a mark in the game.
