The curtains came down on the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines III, yesterday, after the final three side event winners were crowned.
Dhaval Mudgal continued his hot streak by cashing the final Event 19 – $165 Deep Stack Hyper Turbo with an impressive third place finish for $890. In all Dhaval cashed thrice in this series, including his win in Event 14 – MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo for $2,790.
Filipino Mike Takayama won the final event for $2,050 and also had the distinction of making the highest number of cashes – five – in the series. Event 16 – $2,200 High Rollers was claimed by Germany’s Steffen Endres for $16,230, after a heads up deal. And, Japan’s Ryutaro Okuda took down Event 18 – $220 6-Handed Turbo Antes/w for $3,650.
The series also helped Sam Razavi narrow the gap between him and Iori Yogo in the 2016 Asian Player of the Year (APOY) title race. Prior to the APT Philippines 2016 III, Razavi was behind Yogo by 529 points, but after cashing in four events, including a win at the Super Deep Stack Turbo event, the gap came down to 191 points. Yogo managed to cash twice this series.
23 players signed up for the High rollers creating a total prize pool of $44,620. At the end of two days, the last man standing was Steffen Endres, who collected the trophy and a winning sum of $16,230.
Heads up a deal was struck between Endres and Japan’s Aso Seitaro. The final hand saw Seitaro with and Endres with . The board sent out giving Seitaro a two pair, but Endres had a winning flush.

Event 18 drew 68 entries leading to a prize pool of $13,190, with the top 9 finishers making the money.
Three-handed play saw Singapore’s Feng Zhao with the largest stack. Ultimate winner Ryutaro Okuda first eliminated USA’s Moses Saquing at third place. In the final hand Okuda held against Zhao’s , with the board of supporting the former.

Mike Takayama won the final event for $2,050, after defeating Harold Ruaya at heads up. A field of 77 players ponied up $110 to create a prize pool of $7,470.
Dhaval Mudgal ran deep making a third place finish in the event for $890.
