APT Philippines III: Ho Qiang Leads Main Event Day 1B, Dhaval Mudgal Makes Day 2; JC Sayo & Jan Bolotaolo Pick Up Side Event Trophies

Moving into Day 1B of its Main Event, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines III saw Singapore’s Ho Bao Qiang take the lead with a stack of 269,300. Among the 68 survivors, India’s Dhaval Mudgal is sitting pretty at 15th place with 114,300 chips. Indian-origin Rajesh Jiandani is also in with 86,700 in chips.

Winners at side events included, JC Sayo, who collected his second trophy this edition, by winning Event 9 – No Limit Hold’em 1 Day for $7,280. Jan Bolotaolo took down Event 10 – Ante Only Turbo for $2,220.

Scheduled for today is Day 2 of the Main Event, as well as Event 11 – Pot Limit Omaha hi and Event 12 – MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo.

 

$1,650 Main Event – Day 1B

Day 1B of the Main Even attracted 110 entries that included several top names. Defeating them all, Ho Bao Qiang emerged the chip leader among the 68 survivors with 269,300.

Dhaval Mudgal made Day 2 at 15th place on the chip counts with 114,3000, while Japan-based Rajesh Jiandani has 86,700 at 22nd place on the chip counts. They will be joining Kunal Patni who made it through to Day 2 in the first starting flight.

The day began with 31 players taking benefit of the Main Event Bubble Protection and a number of notables are still in the fray, including Canadian pro Linh Tran, Mike Takayama, Gerard Bringley, Joven Huerto, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, Czardy Rivera, Ha Duong, and two-time APT Main Event champions Henrik Tollefsen and Jeon Seung Soo.

Day 2 of the Main Event will unfold today with the combined 109 survivors from the two entry flights. In all, the event saw 186 runners create a prize pool of $270,630 with the winner to take home the $67,660 top prize.

 

Event 9 – $330 No Limit Hold’em 1 Day

Filipino JC Sayo claimed his second trophy this season, after first winning the Head Hunter event. He overcame 92 opponents in the No Limit Hold’em 1 Day event, to take home the title and the winning prize of $7,280.

Event 10 – $110 Ante Only Turbo

Another Filipino Jan Bolotaolo won the Ante Only Turbo event for $2,220. The event saw 84 entries creating a prize pool of $8,150 and Japanese Junichi Nakagiri made a second place finish.
