APT Kickoff 2017: Czardy Rivera Leads Main Event Final Table; Lester Edoc Wins Second Trophy, Kang & Pham Claim Side Events

After an action-packed day the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Kickoff 2017 Main Event reached its final eight and the man to watch was Day 2 chip leader Czardy Rivera, who consolidated his position further with 1,276,000 chips to retain the lead. Giving him a tough challenge will be multiple-time APT Player of the Year title holder Sam Razavi, among others at the final table.

Side events saw Lester Edoc win his second title this series at the WeLoveSport Deep Stack Turbo for $2,550. Besides Edoc, William Kang claimed the No Limit Hold’em 1 for $5,700 and Tien Quyet Pham took down the Deep Stack Turbo for $2,250 after a heads up deal.

On the roster today, is Day 4 of the Main Event at 1.30pm, the final day of the Monster Stack at 2pm, the No Limit Hold’em 2 at 1pm, the High Rollers Day 1 at 3pm and Super Deep Stack Turbo at 5pm (all local times).

 

$1,650 Main Event – Day 3

Day 3 began with 17 survivors, all with their eyes on the money line that pays out the top 10 finishers.

A roar rose from the crowd as the board rolled out the and Pham exited at 11th place.

Day 2 chip leader Rivera continued to build up his already huge stack and ended the day with 1,276,000 chips. Once again, he faced off GACKT, but managed to profit from the hand. The board ran and Rivera tabled for a top pair to rake in the huge pot.

At second place is Japan`s Takumi Samejima, who started out as one of the smaller stacks but made his way up to end with 1,193,000 in chips. Samejima not only eliminated China`s Yin Zhang at 10th place, but further improved his stack when his found a full house on the board of against Uesugi’s flush.

The final table features three past APT Main Event champions with Sam Razavi, Alexis Lim and Rivera himself still in the running.

103 hopefuls signed up for this event, leading to a prize pool of US$9,990, with the top 18 making the money. Last man standing was Filipino pro Lester Edoc, who took home $2,550 and his second trophy this series.

British player William Kang won the NLH 1 for $5,700, after defeating an entry-field of 49. The event had a buy-in of $330.

$110 Deep Stack Turbo

The event attracted 97 runners creating a prize pool of $9,410. The last man standing was Vietnam`s Tien Quyet Pham, who collected a payout of $2,250 after a heads up deal that saw German Karl Wittmann take home $1,870 for his runner-up finish.
