Action was fast and furious yesterday at the ongoing APT Finale Macau Championships 2017 that is currently being hosted at the Macau Billionaire Poker Room in Babylon Casino as it only took five hours for the headline Main Event’s Day 3 to conclude. The Indian contingent as always proved their caliber as both survivors from the country i.e. Delhi based Varun Gupta and Adda52 pro Kunal Patni put up an impressive performance. Gupta is still in contention for the title and bagged up 331,000 and is sixth in chips on the 8-handed final table while Patni finished 10th for HK$39,000 (~₹3,21,500).

Sitting at the top of the heap is Chinese Taipei’s Jack En-Ching Wu who will return for the final day in the chip lead with 940,000.

Meanwhile, APT regular Iori Yogo shipped the No Limit Hold’em 1 side event banking HK$55,800 for his efforts.

Main Event Day 3

Day 3 of the headline main event saw 24 survivors return with the aim to play down to the final eight. Six of them however had to leave empty-handed and as expected, several short stacks exited early on including Andre Moracchini.

At the time of the money bubble, Japanese player Yoshitaka Okawa’s roller coaster journey came to an end at the hands of Wei Guoliang leaving the remaining 18 players in the money.

No sooner had the money bubble burst that the floodgates of eliminations opened even before the official 10-handed final table emerged. The eliminations in the money included Kosei Ichinose (11th place for HK$36,900), Lee Zong Chang (12th place for HK$36,900), Ryo Naito (13th place for HK$31,700), Yang Zhang (14th place for HK$31,700), Shiqiang Lin (15th place for HK$31,700), Wim Bos (16th place for HK$27,900), Andrew An (17th place for HK$27,900) and Wei Guoliang (18th place for HK$27,900).

The first elimination of the unofficial final table, was Kunal Patni who shoved with card 3card 3 and Lim Shyh Chyn called with a better card 1card 2. Patni improved to two pair on the card 2card 1card 1 flop but the turn card 3 and the river card 3 completed a winning straight for Lim and Patni busted.
