Next week, the Asian Poker Tour Asian Series will be back in Goa, after a successful inaugural edition in India last November. PokerGuru Team Pro Sangeeth ‘Samoh’ Mohan is the defending champion for the ₹50,000 main event which attracted an impressive 158 players last time. Samoh had pocketed the top prize of ₹2,346,400.

I plan to play the same way as last time and defend my title successfully this year. I have been working on my game for quite a while, analyzing the hands that I got busted out on recent tournaments, and find out if I could have played them better. It’s been a busy season, but I am ready for the big one now.” said Samoh.

To make the series more exciting this year, the Casino Royale Card Room and APT together have decided to add 5 extra seats for an added value of ₹250,000 to the 10K Re-entry Mega Live Satellite to the APT Main Event at 9 pm on May 19th. The re-entry period in this tournament will be 90 minutes.

We decided to try something special this APT by holding a special satellite and giving something back to our loyal poker community by adding five free seats to the main event,” said Craig Wildman, manager of the Royale Card Room.

Besides the 50K main event, the 2012 APT Series Goa will include tournaments ranging from ₹7,000 all the way to an ₹150,000 High Rollers event. For the complete schedule visit the APT website.

Since November 2011, the APT series has traveled successfully from London, Cebu, Macau and then last month to Manila, growing in number of entries each time. The USD 2,700 Main Event in Manila, which saw 254 entries, was won by Divan Le Roux from South Africa.
